About Marilyn

For over three decades, I have made the dreams of brides and grooms come true with my artfully designed floral centrepieces, arrangements, bouquets, and corsages.

Marilyn's Country Florist Studio
What always makes my day is seeing a bride’s face light up with happiness when I show her the floral arrangements and centrepieces I have designed for her big day. I love creating beautiful floral arrangements for events of all kinds and sizes and would be more than honoured to contribute to your event with florals that are designed to impress and add a layer of stunning beauty to any venue.

Over 34 years ago, I began working in a garden and flower shop where my passion for floral design was ignited. After training for five years as a florist in Bolton, Ontario, I decided to start my own business. Although Marilyn’s Country Florist Studio has been home to three different locations, it is currently located in Wasaga Beach.

My love for art is found everywhere throughout my studio, from the many paintings I have completed over the years on the walls to the bright windows that allow me to draw inspiration from the nature that surrounds me in my own backyard. My little dog Pal sits beside me and keeps me company while I work, and my husband Mike helps with delivery and picking up our rental arrangements.

My cheerful studio is the perfect place to welcome you and to discuss the florals for your upcoming day. Reach out to me today to schedule your consultation, so we can get started designing your arrangements and making your wedding day a magical one. I always have a special gift for the bride on her wedding day.

Volunteering & Donating

Over the past 20 years I have volunteered my time and raised money for Hospice, The Gibson Centre, My Sisters Place, Seniors of Everett, Humane Society, Heart Fund, Retired Police Fund, Haunted House fund for Everett and more recently the Bay Colony Estates Rate Payers Association.  I am a certified Hospice Palliate Care Volunteer and have a certificate of Reflexology and also Cosmetology. With my cosmetic skills I have done the makeup for wedding parties. Using my artistic skills I have designed many homes and gardens as well as interiors including homes for the Rotary Christmas in both Bolton and Palgrave, Ontario.

I enjoy sharing my skills by volunteering at many nursing homes and churches where I teach floral arrangement. I have also done classes in Wasaga Beach at the public library and the Probus Club.

I have donated many arrangements to help raise money or supported financially the following: Wasaga Beach Veterinary Clinic, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Simcoe, Cops for Cancer, the Gala event for Theatre Collingwood, Breaking Down Barriers in Collingwood and a fundraiser for a local family.  I also regularly bring silk arrangements to bring smiles to the residents of Bayhaven Senior Care Community.

I belong to Wings and Heroes and the Wasaga Beach Women’s Business Association where monthly I donate a corsage for the guest speaker and give 15% discount to all members.
